scope: The document is intended to provide the Stetson Hills Community Association with a tool that specifically outlines current and future landscape design, construction/planting, and maintenance practices, as a means to achieve the following:
1. Improve safety for pedestrians & drivers 2. Conserve water & save money 3. Protect the environment through sustainable practices 4. Add value through aesthetics & enhance visual quality 5. Lower overall costs through reduced maintenance needs
The objective is to create a safe, healthy, livable, and environmentally responsible community. The landscape guidelines will assist contracted landscape maintenance companies and their personnel through the process of maintaining the shared outdoor spaces of Stetson Hills. This document is in line with the latest landscape practices and is designed to harmoniously align with the desert ecosystem and water conservation strategies. The visual plans and associated vignettes are visual guides for the community’s overall landscape design. They incorporate environmentally conscious landscape principles in line with the community’s current needs and community desires for use of industry standards and recommended practices for establishing and maintaining a sustainable landscape.
The 114 page document is composed of: design vignettes, plant maintenance and care guidelines, various site inventories, master tree map, slopes map, design recommendations, plant zones map, plant lists, rainwater management strategies, and cost estimates.
